January Empties | 2015

As often as I can, I will display my empty products of the month. These are for the month of January. I don’t know about you guys, but I feel like it is one of the most satisfying feelings to actually finish up a product you bought. It sometimes feels like it was worth the money.  I can’t promise doing this series every month, just because empties are a rare thing to me. I am actually really surprised that I was able to finish up six products to the very last drop. Another thing to know about empties is that I will also let you know if I would repurchase the product, now that I am out of it.

List of Products:
The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter – If you ever go into The Body Shop, this is the body butter to smell. It smells really good, just like strawberries. As I was typing this, I took a little whiff out of the empty strawberry tub.. ahhh. Good memories. This body butter is moisturizing and I feel that it lasts all day on me. The downside is that the body butter, since it is so thick, is in a tub. I prefer pumps, but it’s no big deal. During the winter, I put this on at night and I could smell it as I fell asleep. Repurchase? I would definitely repurchase this, especially in the summertime when the scent is most appropriate.

The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Cream Body Scrub – I am a bit of a body scrub fanatic. I love trying new scrubs all the time, especially from The Body Shop because they are probably my favorite. I do my shopping mainly online, and I will only purchase from The Body Shop when it’s 40-50% off + free shipping. Otherwise, no dice. This body scrub was good at exfoliating my body, but since it was a cream body scrub it was a little weak to me compared to others that I’ve tried. Repurchase? No. I was glad it was a mini body scrub and not full size. It was nice, but I won’t miss it.

Urban Decay Primer Potion – I have the old packaging of this product a.k.a the better packaging. What was Urban Decay thinking when they downgraded from their awesome doe foot applicator? (By the way, I just learned how to spell that! Always heard it, never knew the spelling, until now.) I feel like that was the whole point to the eye-shadow base being the illusion of a potion. Now they changed it to a screw-on cap, which takes the magic right out of it for me. Now back to the product, this stuff is awesome! I have mono-lids, making eye-shadows slip right off while creasing and making a big old mess. This is where UD Primer Potion comes in. It serves as a sticky base for the powder to sit on, resulting in long lasting eye-shadow wear. Repurchase? Yes. I’ve used this since college and will continue to use it.

Eucerin Aquaphor Healing Ointment – This was just a free sample, but I have used up so many of these little tubes. They are a life saver if you have horribly dry, chapped lips. I’m talking about the kind that even regular ChapStick won’t fix. I turned to this product and it helped heal my lips back to normal. Your lips will become soft, smooth and moisturized. It’s amazing.

Philosophy Purity made simple – I used to be a makeup removing wipes type of girl, until I used this product. Beauty gurus on YouTube would rave about how much they loved this cleanser for taking off their makeup. After hearing that statement over and over again, and with girls of all skin types, dry, oily, combination, I gave in. I purchased this last year at the Sephora Black Friday sale. I got a 12 oz. bottle for $10, whereas regularly an 8 oz. bottle retails for $24. Awesome deal! I have sensitive, acne-prone, combination skin and this removes my make up beautifully. Repurchase? Yes. I already stocked up and have an extra bottle waiting to be used.

Revlon PhotoReady – This foundation is oil-free, fragrance free, medium to full coverage, and I was in the shade 005 Natural Beige, if you were wondering. OK. This is a big deal. I don’t know anyone that finishes liquid foundation, unless it was their only foundation. I have a small face, meaning one pump and it might even be a little too much for me. I think this is a really good everyday foundation since it isn’t too heavy. Although, I’ve used it to go out at night and the coverage can be built up. The foundation covers up imperfections nicely, and the color match was really good for my skin tone. Repurchase? Yes, but only if they did not reformulate it.

Let’s think of empty products as an excuse to try more! Shall we?
