Manicure Monday: Red and Pink Stripes

IMG_1394

Welcome to my Valentine’s Day Mani Series! (1/3)

Tools needed: None!

This Red and Pink Striped manicure is for the girls out there that want a Valentine’s day themed manicure but don’t necessarily want hearts all over their nails. The typical colors you’d see in Valentine’s day are in this manicure. Hearts aren’t every girl’s thing, and I’ve got them covered.  So today, this will be a quick, fun Vday nail tutorial and I hope you enjoy!

Now let’s get started…

1. Start with a base coat to protect your natural nail bed.

2. Paint the entire nail your base color, preferably a pale pink.

3. With your red polish, use the side of your brush for a thinner application and sweep it from the bottom to the top of the nail in two places, to create the stripes.

4. Take your base color and paint on top of the thicker red stripes.

5. Once the manicure is done, smooth out the nail art design with a quick drying top coat. This will make the nail look shiny and protect the nail, making the design last longer.

Let me know if you try out this manicure and send a picture of it to me on Instagram with the hashtag #iidoydoyii

Be sure to come back tomorrow for the next manicure in my Valentine’s Day Mani Series.
