Nighttime Makeup Tutorial | Shocking Coral

I went out for my friend’s birthday in the city and this is the makeup I decided to wear. I wore a black top and a sequin skirt with wedges and I thought this was the perfect makeup to go with the overall look. Let me show you how I did it!

+ Prime time. I used four eye shadows including a cool brown crease color, shimmery nude pink all over the lid,  and a shimmery taupe for the outer third of the lid. I did natural winged liquid eye liner and I also did brown eyeliner on my lower lash line (blended out with the shimmery taupe color.) Then I did my brows with a brow pencil and did it more dramatically that I normally would have to balance out the look. I curled my little eyelashes and made sure the curl held all night with my mascara. I only did the top lashes because I predicted I would be a panda by the middle of the night.

+ For lips, I apply lip balm as always. I lined my lips with MLBB lip liner and topped it off with Shocking Coral by doing this trick to help the lip color last for hours. I may or may not have lost this lipstick, but I figure if I did, it’s not a huge deal since I could get it at the drugstore after my no buy is over. It’s just sad that I can’t get it for another few months! May it RIP.

+ I primed my face with a bronze primer since it’s summertime. I did my liquid foundation, highlighted with my highlighting concealer and concealed any blemishes with the waterproof concealer. I powdered my entire face since I am an oil machine. Then I contoured with a taupe powder, bronzed my skin with a bronzer, and used a neutral blush since the lipstick would be very bright and the eyes were very shimmery. I did highlight only on the tops of my cheekbones and I really liked the outcome!

Finished! I hope you like the look as much as I enjoyed doing it – Thank you for reading!

By the way, I used the flash tattoos on my ears as  “earrings” and on my collar bone. SO FUN!

What’s your go to look for a night out?

  1. Beautiful look Joy!!!
Love the glowy cheeks – is that due to the Laura Geller?
Nice touch with the bling – did people keep telling you that you’ve got something on your chest and tried to pick it off?

    • Thank you very much! 🙂

I had to check what you were talking about and no, I think it’s because I am naturally dewy in the beginning, and then it turns into an oily mess unless I take care of it. I think you can see just a hint of the laura geller highlighter in the photo on the right more so than the left. I loved its effect. As you can see I can’t highlight my forehead, nose and cupid’s bow. My skin will do it for me lol

It was way too dark to see! And when we did go outside, those who saw it were shocked! Like whoa you have tattoos?! So silly.

  2. Absolutely gorgeous! I love the bold lip! I absolutely love the CG single shadows! SO UNDERRATED! My first neutral “palette” ever was the shimmering sands from them! Holy grail status! 🙂
