June Empties | 2015

As often as I can, I will display my empty products of the month. These are for the month of June. I don’t know about you guys, but I feel like it is one of the most satisfying feelings to actually finish up a product you bought. It sometimes feels like it was worth the money.  I can’t promise doing this series every month, just because empties are a rare thing to me. I am actually really surprised that I was able to finish up seven products to the very last drop. Another thing to know about empties is that I will also let you know if I would repurchase the product, now that I am out of it.

List of Products:

The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Scrub – I got this great find on sale at TJMaxx. The body scrub was nice but nothing to rave about since I have tried better scrubs from this brand. Vineyard Peach was a creamier body scrub, similar to the coconut one but not rough enough. The scent was just okay. I was not wowed by this, but I also did not mind for the great price.

Repurchase? No, I have found other body scrubs that are worth purchasing over this one.

Wet n Wild Color Icon Liner Brow & Eye Pencil – Shade: Taupe – This is my first makeup empty since my Makeup No Buy! Yay! The no buy is working, people. I used this pencil to fill in my eyebrows; it is a great color match and has a soft texture.

Repurchase? Yes.

Batiste Dry Shampoo – Scent: Original – Who can be bothered to wash their hair everyday? Not only is it time consuming, it is also not good for your hair. If you want healthy locks, consider a dry shampoo on the days you don’t wash your hair. Batiste is great for getting rid of any oils and for giving the hair a little bit of life and volume back into the hair. It’s a lifesaver.

Repurchase? Let’s just say I’m currently using the backup.

The Body Shop Aloe Lip Care – This was an interesting lip balm because it squeezes out from the tube and has little exfoliating properties in it. I had a love/hate relationship with it because sometimes your lips need help with exfoliating and other times you want your lipstick to glide onto a smooth canvas.

Repurchase? No, it was one of those purchases where the website was always sold out of this product, making you think you need it more than you actually do. The reviews got me; This is a good lip balm, not amazing.

Olay Fresh Outlast Body Wash in Soothing Orchid and Black Currant – This body wash was one of those purchases I made because I had a coupon from my trusty magazine. This is nothing special, just a body wash that does the job!

Repurchase? No, I’ve had better.IMG_3921Simple Micellar WaterReview – I’m so sad this is gone. It was probably the fastest I have ever used a skincare product. I love it because it cleans and hydrates my skin at the same time.

Repurchase? Yes, I will definitely repurchase this drugstore gem.

IMG_3924Maybelline Fit Me! ConcealerReview – I really liked this concealer. I feel like you get so much bang for your buck; it was a never-ending tube. This is my second makeup product empty since my No Buy!

Repurchase? Yes, but after all my concealers are done.

Have you tried any of my empties? What did you think about them?

  1. Hey, I just bought that Body Shop Vineyard Peach Scrub (clearance sale)! I agree with you on all points. I actually really liked the scent when I sniffed it in store, but when I got home and used it, it had this artificial after-smell. Oh well.

Nice job on the empties! I don’t think I have any this month 😦

    • Thank you! I’m glad you agree. I don’t want it to seem like I am bashing a good body scrub. It’s just in comparison, it’s not the greatest one they have and I’d pass on it in the future!

No empties? That’s perfectly fine. I think the empties come in waves. I only have a lot these months because I am on a no buy and I am really using everything I have up. (or trying to!)

  2. How long did the micellar water last you? I bought mine about a week ago and 1/4 of it is already gone! I have to wonder if I’m using too much, but am curious because you wrote that it was the fastest you’ve ever used a skincare product!! I love it too!

  3. Crazy, they sell Body Shop stuff at TJMaxx?
Congrats on makeup empties!!! Mine was a mascara, and a face powder – it was awesome to finish makeup products for sure.
AND OMG BBQ YOU FINISHED THAT FIT ME CONCEALER! ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
So which concealer are you working on now?
Ok, thanks for letting me know that I didn’t need that Body Shop aloe lip care cuz everyone raves about it and I wasn’t sure – it was in stock at but I wasn’t wowed by the tester.
Wow, you finished that Simple micellar water ALREADY? Did you drink that stuff?!

    • The Body Shop, Philosophy and Shiseido are the brands I see in TJMaxx and it is awesome!

Thank you! It feels good because the no buy is finally working.

Omg bbq! Barbecue? Lol I am currently working on the NARS radiant creamy concealer and the MUFE waterproof concealer for blemishes.

Yea the aloe lip care is just okay. It’s unique but it’s annoying for when I wanted to put on some lipstick.

Doesn’t it sound like I just poured the Simple Micellar Water down the drain? Nope. Onto ma face! 🙂
