Sweat-Proof Makeup!

IMG_3952Keep your makeup from sweating off!

Always apply an eye primer to keep your shadows from moving around on the lid. They also make your shadows look more vibrant. This is the time that I apply brow mousse, you can also use brow gel to keep them in place. For extra staying power, I will also use a paint pot so my eye shadow and liner really don’t budge. Apply the taupe crease color, champagne lid color, and soft highlight. Use waterproof liquid eyeliner, curl the lashes, (and apply waterproof mascara.) I also added nude liner to my waterline to make my eyes appear more awake.

I apply a non-greasy SPF followed by a face primer. I actually mix the bronze primer with my tinted moisturizer that is too light for my face. I use a waterproof concealer on blemishes to prevent the unwanted slip n’ slide. I apply a face powder to set all the liquid makeup in place. Liquid foundation is too thick and uncomfortable in the heat. I now apply my peachy pink blush and bronzer.

As for lips, I opted for a matte color that is classic throughout the day, no matter what event.

This makeup lasted on me for back to back parties last Sunday! Even I was impressed with its staying power with zero touch ups.

What are your sweat-proof makeup tips?

  1. Nice tips! That the makeup stayed on so long is excellent! I hate touching up.

I have dry skin and generally don’t have major staying power issues, but this summer I have been using the powder-under-foundation method recommended by Goss, and it has worked brilliantly. I can be out all afternoon in the sun and I won’t be a sweaty oil slick by the end.

  2. I love Stay Don’t Stray too! But I haven’t tried a paint pot yet, painterly is on my wish list. Great tips 🙂

  3. Looking nice and fresh there! That Jouer Matte Moisture Tint looks great.
I like CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous foundation. Or just smear deodorant all over my face to keep it from sweating. I think I sweat MORE from my face than anywhere else on my body, it’s horrendous. For the record, Kiehl’s Superbly Efficient Anti-Perspirant and Deodorant, which is a cream, is fantastic for applying in a thin layer on the upper lip if needed…. 😛

    • Thank you! I love the MMT in the summer. It is so pretty and helpful this time of year. That’s a good tip for all the sweaty faces out there! I would have never thought to do that. Good thing it doesn’t break you out or anything!

  4. Hey Joy! It’s been long, sorry 😦
I enjoyed this post, sweat proof is very important for this season! You might have already mentioned before but what kink of hair treatment are you using? I think your hair type and mine are very similar, but I envy yours just look shiny!

    • You changes your name! No worries. Glad to be talking to you again! On my hair? I hardly do my treatments in the summer but I used to put coconut oil in my hair once a week to every two weeks just on the ends. For this hairstyle, I used dry shampoo, heat protectant and then elnett to set the hairstyle without it feeling or looking crunchy. I hope this helps! 🙂

      • Thanks for the tip Joy! Yea I needed to change some for my blog… Let me talk about it later 😦 But omg, you’re using coconut oil! I have to take a look, my hair tends to be dry even in the summer. Thanks again, hope you’re stating a happy week! 🙂

  5. Great tips! As it’s always very very hot here I have to apply sweat proof make up nearly all the time! For eyes, i use MAC paint pot in soft ochre, brows sealed with a brow gel. Now the tricky part – foundation. Always applying a primer, a good amount of powder and make up fix spray. If I’m running around I still keep a powder compact to touch up on areas like the chin.

  6. I agree, with a good eye primer underneath and a waterproof formula, we could keep our lashes safe from any mascara smudges due to overheat and sweat. Now I want to steal all the make up products in your picture 😀 😀 😀
