#ThrowbackThursday | OOTD: Rainy Day Layers

tbt

This is a true Throwback Thursday as this blog post has been sitting my drafts for a little over 5 months and the picture was taken in 2014. Enjoy!

“I used to think that you have to sacrifice fashion due to inclement weather. Now I have learned that the right layers can make a great rainy day outfit. Normally, I would wear rain boots with this look, but it was just light rain that day. Now onto the outfit:

I was going more for browns and reds in this outfit since it was autumn. Jeans are the most comfortable thing to wear, and it keeps the outfit casual, especially with the sneakers. I chose a lacy top because I knew the rest of the layers would be darker or have more structure. Lace made the outfit not as harsh, keeping the top light and girly. I had a lightweight cardigan that went well with the lace and threw that on. For my final layer, I picked a color in between the red and brown and opted for maroon. This layer is functional because it has a lovely little hood attached. It can be zipped up and can be worn as a jacket as well. The red bag is fashionable and once again functional, because if it is raining, the bag will not get ruined due to its water-resistant lining.”

  1. It’s so true – grey rainy days are perfect for some fashion fun and colour! That’s why my umbrella is red and my rain boots have flowers on them! Great TBT post! Can’t believe you sat on this post for 5 months! ๐Ÿ™‚
