What you’ll need…
6 Tazo Zen tea bags
water
rock sugar
mint
How to do it…
Step 1 – Simple Syrup:
-In a small pot, add rock sugar (amount depends on how sweet you like it) and water.
-On medium high heat, wait until the rock sugar dissolves, stirring occasionally.
-Pour into mason jar or pitcher of choice.
While the simple syrup is being made, this is a great time to open all the tea bag packets and don’t forget to cut off the string and attached paper. This results in easy clean up later.
Step 2 – Water:
-Bring about 4 cups of water to a boil.
-Add tea bags and stir.
-Let it steep for 5-10 minutes. (The longer you steep, the stronger and possibly more bitter the taste.)
Step 3 – Tea Time:
-Now that the stove is off and everything is cooling down, prepare to pour the simple syrup, tea mixture, and mint into the pitcher.
-Simply add cold water to fill up the rest of the pitcher.
-Chill in refrigerator overnight.
If you really can’t wait (the way I can’t wait,) just add ice cubes to your cup, pour the tea in there, and chill in the refrigerator for 20 minutes. One word: REFRESHING!
Have you ever made a Starbucks drink in your own home? What was it?
I wish but if I could I would make their black tea mango lemonade. Yum

This is awesome! I love a good iced tea and I love how much effort you put into this – it is quite a craft. Also yes to the mason jar! I have to try this because I’m always making different kinds of iced teas and chill them in mason jars to have an assortment throughout the week!!!!!

Thank you! Different iced teas are great bc you always want to switch it up. I get so bored with water especially when I don’t have anything to throw in there. I try to do fresh mint most days, but it doesn’t add as much flavor as a strawberry would. You know what I mean? This is nice and refreshing!

I’m with you on the water thing! I seriously can’t stand plain water!! I have to have at least a slice of lemon or lime! I really enjoy True Lemon packets, too!!!

Yes! I tried those lemon, lime, orange, and grapefruit packets where they are supposed to be the equivalent to a wedge of whatever fruit you choose. It was awesome!

Exactly! No cutting and squeezing of a lemon wedge needed.. it was all in that teeny tiny packet!

I love Starbucks’ iced tea, but I’ve never tried making my own. Your recipe looks easy to follow, so maybe I’ll give it a try, when I’m back in Dubai. I sometimes make myself a latte with Nespresso’s Caramelito. With some extra caramel on top, it almost tastes like the Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks:)
