How to Save Dried Up Cream Eye Shadows

When cream eye shadows and bases dry out, the normal reaction is to chuck them. HOLD ON! Before you do that, try this simple way to help revive the driest of cream shadows. This trick may save you a couple bucks.

Before and After:

Would you believe that all you need to save your cream shadows is some witch hazel and a toothpick? It’s that easy.

-Pour a small amount of witch hazel into the jar.
-Take your toothpick and swirl it around, making sure all the witch hazel is combined with the product.
-With your finger, smooth out the product.
-There will be excess witch hazel so now is the time to dump it out.

Good as new!

If you can’t see the difference in the picture above, let me tell you about its texture. The first swatch was difficult to pick up and dragged along my skin, whereas the second swatch had even less product on my finger and more of a smooth, pigmented color pay off. And to think I was going to throw this in the garbage?

Last year, I’ve tried this witch hazel method on MAC paint pots as well. This has saved my Soft Ochre paint pot, which I still use it to this day.
