Makeup Tutorial | Baconfest 2015

Strange title for a makeup post but I went out for my friend’s birthday at our local Biergarten, and this is the makeup I wore to eat a lot of bacon. My outfit was a black peplum top, gold body chain, and a red/orange skirt with nude sandal wedges. Let’s get into the makeup!

+ Prime time. I used a taupe cream eye shadow as another base. Then, I applied three eye shadows including a warm toned brown crease color, matte cool gray color all over the lid to smoke it out and a cool pale beige shimmer as a highlight for the brow bone and inner corners. I like highlighting my inner corners especially when I do a smokey eye. I did winged liquid eye liner and I also did brought some of the gray eye shadow and crease color onto my lower lash line. Then I did my brows with a brow pencil and followed up with a brow mousse to keep the hairs in place. I curled my little eyelashes and nixed the mascara because I currently don’t have a waterproof formula.

+ For lips, you can’t forget the lip balm, it’s a must. Then, I lined my lips with MLBB lip liner, lined just the bottom and cupid’s bow with the more brown-pink lip liner, and topped it off with a hot coral-pink lipstick. I only had to touch up my lipstick once throughout the night because when the lipstick is gone, I was left with a nice pink stain.

+ I find that my makeup doesn’t last long in the summer and I really needed it to last all night so I primed my face with my favorite face primer. I did my liquid foundation, concealed my under eye area and then concealed any blemishes with a waterproof concealer. I powdered just the places I put concealer to avoid any cakiness. Then, I contoured with a taupe powder, bronzed my skin with a bronzer, and used my favorite blush since the lipstick would be brighter pink. I did highlight only on the tops of my cheekbones, temples and above the eyebrows for a pretty glow.

My makeup lasted all night! I was quite pleased when I only had to do a small touch up for my lips.

What’s your favorite eye shadow to wear for a night out?
