This New French Manicure series consists of a modern twist to a classic manicure:
From French Manicure to Color Blocking Manicure | Polka Dot Frenchie Manicure | Orange & Nude
Happy Columbus Day! These nails are inspired by a magazine article where the french manicure looks broken in the middle. I loved the concept so this is my take on them.
Here is a step-by-step tutorial on the New French Manicure:
1. Start with a base coat to protect your natural nail bed.
2. Paint nails light pink until they are opaque.
3. Paint the tips with an green polish.
4. With nail polish remover and a tiny liner brush, remove the middle part of the green line.
5. Paint over the entire nail with the light pink polish again.
6. Once the manicure is done, seal the nail art design with a quick drying top coat. This will make the nail look shiny and the design last longer.
I love these nails. I think this is the modern twist that the french manicure sometimes needs!

That’s weird yet interesting. It makes me uncomfortable… like it’s wrong, but it was intentional. I’m so confused right now.
But I do like OPI Bubble Bath and I’ve been resisting its charms for a long time but I just might have to get it just to compare it to Essie Mademoiselle.

I like this reaction. The nails are unique and you can look at it as if I made dashes. Is that better? 🙂

I suppose! If you HAD made dashes, I’d need to see more broken bits on each nail… like 1 more on each side of the middle one. I’m still uncomfortable lol.

The broken bit in the middle is making me twitch, but it’s still pretty cool. The color combo is <3!

OMG twitch?! So sorry! LOL
Yes, I do love the color combo. I may try to do something else with these colors in the future.

Hahah! Don’t worry about my issues 😀 It’s great that you’re trying these different looks! I always like graphical patterns and love that that’s what you tend to go for with your nail art.
