Four Favorite Fall Lipsticks

Fall is the time to whip out your darker vampy shades, right? Wrong! (For me anyway) I like to try shades that are darker for my taste, but I do it in baby steps. You’ll see what I mean…

You can get an idea of what it may look like on the lips:

Wet n Wild – 906D – Wine Room | Worn here | This semi matte, cream finish lipstick is the perfect wine color for Fall. It lasts a long time, it’s on trend, and is not as scary as a darker wine color. Maybe I should have named this post Bold Lips for Beginners!

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick – Kasbah | Worn here | I love oranges and apparently it’s any shade of orange; Just because this is a muted orange, more on the terracotta side, I love this for Fall. I have gotten many compliments on this lipstick no matter the makeup look I wear. This can be worn with natural makeup as well as a dramatic smokey eye.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter – Raspberry Pie | This is one of my first berry lipsticks that I am actually very comfortable wearing. As someone that does not dabble in bold lips on the regular, this was great for easing me into the idea. The shade goes well with my complexion and the formula feels basically like a lip balm because it’s so soft. I would not recommend this for long wearing properties because you’d have to reapply more often than a matte version. If I could find a similar shade in a matte formula, I would take the plunge and it would be my go to bold fall lip color. Any suggestions?

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil – Cruella | Most of us Sephora lovers already have this lip pencil because it was the free birthday gift for the year along with Rikugien. This pencil is great because it’s the “application of a lipstick combined with the convenience of a pencil in a jumbo crayon design. The long lasting, non-drying formula is enriched with emollients for a creamy texture, while a combination of unique silicones ensures long-lasting, seamless color for hours. Use for lining, all-over lip color, or pairing with another lip product.” I totally agree. This is the kind of red that is universally flattering on all skin tones. I love it and it helps me grow my reds collection!

What is your go to Fall lippie? Any suggestions on a matte version of Revlon Raspberry Pie?

  1. I love the last 2 on you! I have Revlon Raspberry Pie but I always forget to use it. And I did receive the NARS Velvet Matte in Cruella but I’m passing it onto a friend instead – too bold (and matte) for me.

  2. Ooh I’ll have to try the Kasbah one! I’ve never tried a dark orange for fall.

Oh and if you have a glossy lipstick you want to make matte I suggest dabbing translucent powder on top. Instant mattification! (Not sure if that’s a word but it works. And it holds your lipstick in place)
