Who knew a little makeup sponge could make a huge difference in your nail polish game?

I have had this pack of makeup sponges and I never use it for makeup; I use it for nail art. This is a trick I have learned from the original YouTube nail art accounts. I figured that this is an inexpensive way to get the best looking nail art. At this time, I didn’t even have basic dotting tools, let alone nail art brushes.

How to use it:

Ombre/Gradient – Paint your nail one color. Take your second nail polish and swipe the color onto the edge of the sponge. Place the sponge onto the nail, concentrating on one area and making the design fade out to achieve the fading effect.

Perfect Lines – I recently discovered that because I did not have a nail striper, I thought I could not achieve perfect lines. I wanted to do a french manicure and ended up using a makeup sponge for the tips. I also use it for perfect color blocking. Here’s my Halloween mani as an example:

As you can see, there are a number of ways to use a simple makeup sponge for your next manicure.
