Spring Fashion Series | Chambray & Metallic

Welcome to my Spring Fashion Ideas Series (2/5)

Chambray and Metallic – Casual, Chic

IMG_2668

Metallic clothes get attention. In order to tone it down, I paired it with a chambray shirt to balance out the look. Because the top and the chambray shirt are flowy, it could overwhelm your frame. That’s why I took a skinny black belt to cinch in my waist, so you’ll see that I actually have a waist. You don’t want your body to get lost in the layers, making you look bigger than you are.

Skinny jeans are just my go-to jeans and I have a bunch of different colors. I’m learning that Chambray shirts can be worn year round. They are so versatile and easy to wear.

  1. I love that pleated top! I bet it’s not available at H&M anymore. Good tip about belting it to show your form – I should try that. I bought a chambray shirt last year and I always feel weird pairing it with jeans but I just need to find a different shade of jeans for contrast, like you have here (granted my chambray shirt is a darker shade).

    • Thank you girl! Sadly, it’s not available. I got it maybe two summers ago, but H&M always comes out with similar basics. Since you’re petite, you should try a skinny belt instead of a thicker belt, unless you have a long torso and can pull it off! I used to stay away from chambray and then I slowly figured out all the ways you can wear it. Super versatile from winter to spring. Now I love it!

  2. This is such a great look! I actually have a chambray shirt in my closet that I never wear because I feel like I can never make it work! I like how you styled all of these pieces! Chic, but casual!
